Letter from Iraq

Time has published a letter from a Marine officer in Iraq:

Most Profound Man in Iraq — an unidentified farmer in a fairly remote area who, after being asked by Reconnaissance Marines if he had seen any foreign fighters in the area replied "Yes, you."

It is a clear-eyed view of the war. You have to admire the soldiers' commitment in the face of adversity, as well as their quiet recognition that they are carrying out a strategy devised by politicians who don't know or care about what is really going on.

Now, let's hear from some Iraqis about their experiences of the invasion. Then let Americans decide if this insanity is in our interests or merely a cynical game controlled by cowardly ideologues.

If you care for the soldiers as real people, not cannon fodder, then work to bring them home.
