The Meanings of Race & Ethnicity

Form groups where each member of the group is of a different ethnic identity. Each group should select a recorder to take notes in the blue book. Taking turns, each member of the group should relate an experience in which he/she became aware of his/her ethnic identity. It can be a formative experience or a recent one. After each member has told a story, you should, as a group, find the similarities in the stories. What are the common elements? Next, look for the differences.

After groups have completed the task, we'll discuss as a class the results.
